Shakespearean Role for Greg

Greg is to embark upon a UK and Eire tour with Chapterhouse Theatre Company playing Lord Capulet in Romeo and Juliette as well as the title role in a new historic fantasy play Merlin the Magician. The summer tour will take in historic gardens and venues such as castles and open air theatres across Britain. It's touring the way it used to be...a travelling band of players each day a different place...

Goodbye Old Friend

My beautiful old alsatian/border collie cross Scallywag was put to sleep today, Tuesday March 17th 2009 at noon. He was over 16 years old, had a wonderful life and was the very best friend a dog could be. He had the soul of an angel and as I held his head and watched him pass I cried like a baby. I hope he's already running through the rabbit fields of beyond with little Rat, his lifelong companion who passed on two years ago.

The Winterling at Nexus Arts

Greg has just finished a run at Manchester's Nexus Arts Cafe of Jez Butterworth's 'The Winterling' playing London gangster and fixer Wally. It's a new diversion for Greg, who usually plays sophisticated, educated men, (for some reason unknown to anybody here...) but this time, he got to be the hard man. The run was a great success and it is hoped that the production, Nurture Theatre Company's debut show, will go on to be included in next year's prestigious Replay Festival.

THE AFRICAN COMPANY PRESENTS RICHARD III

17/02/09

Greg has just finished the sound design for this Collective Artistes' production which is based on historical events which took place in New York in 1821.

The drama surrounds America's first black theatre company, which had the 'audacity' to perform Shakespeare, and how the troupe stood up to a rival 'white' company intent on shutting them down. Being premiered in the UK, the play is on regional tour throughout February, March and beyond in 2009.

GREG LANDS ROLE AT THE LANDOR THEATRE

03/12/2008

Greg has landed the role of the Colonel in Deepcut: Scenes From An Inquiry, which premieres at the Landor Theatre, Clapham, London from December 9 to December 13, 2008.

Between 1995 and 2002, four young soldiers were found dead in the Princess Royal Barracks at Deepcut in Surrey. Despite dying in conspicuously suspicious circumstances, the families involved are still waiting for a public inquiry. Whether the deaths were suicide, manslaughter or murder, the investigations were perfunctory and botched. Subsequent studies, including QC Nicholas Blake's 2004 Deepcut Review, lifted the lid on a culture of bullying, binge drinking and wanton promiscuity.

The play is directed by award-winning director Sophie Lifschutz.

Hannah and Martin

22/06/2008

Greg has just finished playing the lead role of Martin Heidegger in the UK Premiere of award-winning off-Broadway play, Hannah and Martin, at the Courtyard Theatre. The Play received rave reviews.

"...the first play by journalist Kate Fodor and has all the ingredients that make it a perfect theatrical experience - intellectually stimulating, fine writing and compelling performances..." British Theatre Guide

"...quite a find this play... you will leave the theatre not only entertained, but almost certainly smarter ... Greg Patmore is pretty good as Heidegger, supremely self-confident at first, later a broken man. All these factors make this a creditable piece of theatre..." Timeout **** 4 Stars, Monday 2nd June 2008

"....As Arendt, Vivienne Rowdon is at the top of her game in an extremely difficult and emotional role. Rowdon manages to find the flesh and blood behind a philosopher's elaborate theory and here she is matched perfectly by Greg Patmore's Heidegger. Neither resort to melodrama or any obvious artifice and during the second act in particular, the sparks fly between these two actors...." The Stage, Monday 2nd June 2008

The film was made by Cascade Productions, recorded in the wonderful ’wood’ room at Parr Street Studios.
